Indeed it would, JonCon. It would have been nice if the untold billions sent in overseas aid had been used for what it was intended but sadly it has not reached the targeted needed on too many occasions and been diverted to the corrupt.
Unfortunately, as a result of the pandemic the UK has been forced to, TEMPORARILY and selectively, cut it’s overseas aid budget from 0.7% of GDP to O.5% of GDP. Over 2 years this will save the UK £4 billion. Unfortunately the UK has got to to cut it’s cloth in face of one of the biggest economic disasters in living memory. Let’s also not forget that despite the cuts there is still a massive amount going out in foreign aid and still much more than paid by many other developed nations.

I would have done that, JonCon but for the fact that you sunk to the depths to which you accuse others of sinking, by amending his forum name. As you say, we will not have sensible debate while we do that.
If you want to fight your corner on vaccination doses or the foreign aid budget you must rise above that, of course there is cause for debate on both subjects.
I reserve my vitriol for people who have tried to wreck this forum and for those who lacked the intelligence to stand their ground here and have chosen to snipe from afar. Beyond that I like everybody who posts on this forum and feel that all make a good contribution, seriously and humorously, that includes you.

We all know what JonCon supposedly does not stand for ----because he has told us this many many times

What he has not told us is what he DOES stand for---Is he going to tell us----I don't think so as he does not seem to be capable of rational comprehension

If he was-----he would have looked at all the facts and said:

Hasn't Boris done well----not only has he bought enough vaccines to keep the British population safe given the unknowns there were when the contracts were awarded and now the myriad of unknowns going forward

JonCon should be applauding Boris for donating more vaccines to the rest of the world than Germany France Spain Italy and the rest of the EU put together-!!!!!! ----think about that JonCon---you were bleating about how the UK would be greatly diminished after Brexit

Look at Boris now ---a very successful G7 summit and plans for policies that will have showcased the UK as a Leader on the World Stage

That has to be worth a lot and I will only say what other intelligent and knowledgeable people are saying --WELL DONE BORIS
