Water again.
Water again.
Water companies pay £2.5bn in dividends in two years as climbs by £8.2bn
In 32 years since privatisation £78bn has been paid out of utilities.
( Sourced From the Financial Times )
Not made up by me .
I should have bought shares

Disgraceful...
What are ofwat doing?
.
It's not just the company you keep, but the company you keep away from by which you are judged.

Re: Water again.
Is Ofwat an anagram of twats?
Re: Water again.
My mistake, it actually is an anagram of AWOFT, which is A Waste Of F***ing Time.
I knew I'd crack it in the end.

It made me realise that "privatisation" is an anagram for
Let's make ourselves billions and pi$$ of the public at the same time with our crappier services.

Yes, it's a thorny issue. Should the companies lose money through inefficiency or shareholders dividends. In an ideal world, publically owned companies should be efficient, but the 70's and 80's taught us differently. And look at the health service. It squanders billions every year, yet there is no better alternative.adamlenton wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 11:59 am Thanks for that Jefe.

If we could change the politicians, maybe we could do something?
Re: Water again.
The NHS and Water companies are not the problem, that lies with the inefficient greedy so called humans that are supposed be be running them
They should all be sacked and shown the way out with no payments then maybe the NHS and others can appoint people that have better understanding of profit and loss systems and are not afraid to wield the axe .
Before I left the UK thats the job I did and I turned a good few companies from trading at a loss into very good at making a profit, I had to wield the axe a good few times
